INDUSTRY VETERAN TEAMS WITH MAJOR RETAIL EAS/RFID TECH PLAYER TO ANNOUNCE ACT

December, 20, 2018 – CHICAGO – Long-time leader and pioneer of the retail loss prevention industry and community, Adel Sayegh, has teamed with multi-billion-dollar international electronic article surveillance (EAS) technology company, Hangzhou Century Co., Ltd (Century), to start Asset Control Technologies (ACT), a new asset protection technology developer and provider.

The CHICAGO-based partnership, which seeks to usher in a new era to the loss prevention and security business sector by providing the market the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art asset protection solutions not yet available.

Sayegh, who will serve as an ACT board chairman, indicated the company aims to distinguish themselves by eschewing traditional approaches to EAS in favor of more analytical, radio frequency identification (RFID) data-driven hardware and software technologies. He referenced intuitive solutions that hone in on analytics that support Omni-channel revenue streams, such as real-time inventory control systems and out of stock forecasting for electronic commerce (E-commerce).

In addition to the wealth of experience Sayegh brings to the table, the team will be led by industry veteran, Vivian Wang, who will oversee day-to-day operations as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Wang is well qualified to lead the organization’s bold endeavor. She earned her Master of Science degree in Information Management Systems from University of Illinois at Chicago, and has taken various roles with Century during the past six years, most recently overseeing Century’s North America operation.

Wang echoed Sayegh’s commitment to delivering dynamic and unprecedented solutions, as well as expressing her excitement for the opportunity to partner with Sayegh.

“Innovation is in Century’s D.N.A., “she said, “Century has a dedicated research and development team with more than 20 engineers in both EAS and RFID product development. Century has been a market leader in new technology adoption and new product release in retail space,” Wang continued. “Adel and the ACT team will help to bring Century’s cutting-edge new products to the customers in North America.”

Sayegh previously founded USS, which operated as the world’s largest private loss prevention solution provider for more than 20 years. He earned a reputation within the industry for his ability to innovate. He has developed more than 100 patented solutions, including the revolutionarily compact Milli Tag EAS apparel tag for a major national department store chain.

Established in 2003 and headquartered in China, Century specializes in customized EAS and RFID hardware and software solution for retail operations, becoming one of the world’s largest providers of RF labels. Century operated as the exclusive provider of EAS tags and RF labels for Sayegh’s previous venture, Universal Surveillance Systems (USS).
